Welcome to Awaroa Ki Karioitahi Landcare

We’re a group of local landowners and community members working together to restore and protect the Awaroa-Karioitahi catchment — one tree, one trap, and one conversation at a time.

Our vision is a thriving landscape where native plants and wildlife flourish, healthy habitats are protected and restored, and our catchment community is connected and supported.

Held on the first Friday of the month at the Ōtaua Bowling Club, we open the doors for a friendly morning of conversation, coffee, and community connection. People can come along to learn more about the group, have a chat, enjoy some home baking, and pick up traps or bait for their pest control needs, and other products for pest plants (available for a small donation). It’s also a great chance to become a member and meet others who care about our local environment. Everyone’s welcome!
